At KROMA, we specialize in single-pigment colours, letting high quality pigments speak for themselves. Every once in a while, however, a blended colour captures our attention and demands to be added to our collection. Such was the case with Green Gold Hue.
While PY129, the pigment on which Green Gold Hue is based, is available on the market, we find that achieving a similar colour using PY150 (Nickel Azo Yellow) with a touch of PY175 (Benzi Yellow) and PG7 (Phthalo Green) allows painters to access a greater transparency and clarity of colour than the original PY129 pigment on its own.
Green Gold Hue has a way of holding light and emitting an almost radioactive glow. Because of this, it makes an ideal colour for glazes and watercolour-style washes straight out of the tube. And, unlike some blends, it also plays well with others: mixing intriguing yellows, greens, and oranges when combined with other pigments.
